In winter 2023/24, Sony Music Norway contacted director and producer duo Sigurd Fossen and Christer Dyngeland with a wish to create a new music video for Norwegian artist phenomenon Peder Elias. The artist, who has built a major career beyond Norway's borders and recently reached number 1 in China with the song Twinkle Twinkle, wanted a video for the song Forever Was Never Enough – a personal and reflective song about losing someone close. og Christer Dyngeland med et ønske om å lage en ny musikkvideo for det norske artist fenomenet Peder Elias. Peder Elias about the song: "Forever Was Never Enough is a song about accepting that life is not fair, and that sometimes we have to say goodbye to a person or an era, or even a version of ourselves, that we wished we could hold onto forever. I, and people close to me, have experienced the loss of someone I love, the devastation of divorce, the end of friendships, the heartbreak of lost love, and even the pain of moving on in life and realising that in doing so, we break bonds we thought were eternal."
Solution:
There is much that is beautiful about winter in Oslo, but when warm feelings and nostalgic imagery are on the menu, filming in snow-covered Oslo streets can be challenging. The solution was to head somewhere warmer – namely Italy – where nostalgia, "warm" sunshine (in reality barely above zero degrees), and beautiful green surroundings were to be found. With this the duo wanted to create a warm and summery film universe that immediately evoked good memories and nostalgia, while also placing Peder Elias in beautiful surroundings where viewers could get to know him better as an artist. For the film to work, the chemistry between the two child actors was crucial. It was therefore a clear advantage that two cousins were brought in, with extra Alessio Cheli playing a young Peder Elias. And although directing children in Italian was a challenge, Google Translate came to the rescue – leading to many amusing exchanges between the crew and the children, who took it all in their stride.

The music video has to date been viewed over 990,000 times on YouTube.
