Helge Kallevik (32) joins Sølvrev as new videographer.
Helge Kallevik, originally from Aksdal, comes most recently from a freelance career running his own production company under the name Lunavision. There he worked with both small and large clients including Warner Bros, Sony Music, TV2 and NRK.
He has now secured a position as videographer at the Oslo office, which was one of the reasons for the move. "My partner and I had been toying with the idea of moving to Oslo – she is a designer and the market for both design and film is much bigger there. Then the Sølvrev job ad appeared, and since I enjoy a bit of competition, and Sølvrev clearly brings strong expertise and great personalities, I quickly sent in my application. My main motivation is that my partner and I get to develop ourselves in the best possible way, alongside like-minded people – and I am confident Sølvrev will live up to expectations," says Kallevik.
CEO Daniel Eikeland is very pleased with the new hire, who will make an important contribution to the continued development of the Oslo office. "We are thrilled to welcome Helge to our little Sølvrev family. Not only is he an absolutely outstanding videographer and editor, but he is also extremely skilled at understanding what clients want and creating content that delivers the right results. We already had a chance to get to know Helge on our recent company trip to the fishing paradise of Sørøya, where he made a brilliant impression on the whole team – this is going to be great," says Eikeland.
Broad and extensive experience.
After completing secondary school, Kallevik studied TV and Film Production at Noroff, before going on to specialise in cinematography in Cape Town, South Africa. From there, he co-founded a production company in Haugesund, where he worked for three years before going freelance.
"In secondary school we were lucky enough to be able to choose an elective that wasn't German or French. I can't remember exactly what it was called, but it was new and allowed us flexibility in how we wanted to learn. That was where I got to try my first Mini-DV camera, and shortly after I bought my own. Since then I have dipped my toes into most areas of film production, but my core competence is undoubtedly behind the camera, where I enjoy working with composition, exposure, colour and light. Now I want to shoot the most creative projects possible, work in a team and continue climbing the skills ladder – and I look forward to seeing how Sølvrev will challenge and develop me into an even better videographer," Kallevik continues.
Many balls in the air.
Kallevik is not just talented behind the camera. In addition to running Lunavision, he is also co-owner of Café Delice in Haugesund, runs an online driving theory course at rumpaigir.no and plays bass guitar in two different bands.rumpaigir.no og spiller bassgitar i to ulike band, nemlig milieu og Savant.
During the pandemic he also found time to make a documentary about a local multi-disciplinary artist, focusing on mental health. The film was self-produced with no budget, but has since been acquired by the Norwegian Film Institute and can be viewed for free by anyone with a library card on filmbib.no for the next five years.
P.S. Kallevik is the only actual arctic fox at Sølvrev.
