American artist Livingston teamed up with the Norwegian crew for a new visual venture – filmed in Sweden and England, produced by Sølvrev.
When the American artist Livingston wanted to bring the songs from his album "A Hometown Odyssey" to life through a visual campaign in Europe, the choice fell on the Norwegian production team at Sølvrev. First up was Stockholm, where the team shot three performance films in under 24 hours – all on 16mm film – with a distinctive artistic signature.
The response from the artist and management was immediate. Even before the clips were finished, Sølvrev was invited to continue to England to document the studio stay at the iconic Decoy Studios – known from artists including Ed Sheeran.
"There is something really special when an American artist sees the footage from the camera and immediately asks: 'Do you want to come along and document this too?'. That says something about both chemistry and trust," says director Sigurd Fossen.
"When exciting artists come from the US wanting to do productions in Europe, it is really gratifying to see that we have built the foundation and the relationships that make them think of Sølvrev – even when the shoots are happening in England and Sweden," says producer Christer Dyngeland.
Sølvrev has worked consistently over time to build relationships within the American music industry, and the collaboration with Livingston is clear proof that this is paying off.
"We are a small team with a short distance from idea to finished film, and we believe that appeals to artists who are used to a fast pace and close collaboration," Fossen concludes.
